Public Update #70
The last public update was some time ago, but we have been doing a lot behind the scenes, as well as keeping things updated and pushing out fixes here and there. We're still working on some more "bigger" updates and when we are ready to share we will. But for now, we thought we would give you this;
Reworked Fishing
A while ago we added made fishing better, with new loot, new fish and new games. It was good, but it wasn't perfect. It still made fishing at it's core not have much value. Now, every fish you catch will have it's own size and weight, as well as rarity and more. With hundreds of types of fish to catch, and thousands of possible sizes.
Above is just 1 page of the fish that you can catch. Every fish has it's own unique identity.
But of course, it's value? Now you will be able to sell each and every fish you get, with the price varying every single time based on the fishes weight, size and rarity. So if you caught a legendary fish that is huge in size and weighs a ton, it will also sell for even more.
Also to make all this better, the minigames were made much more engaging and fun, and some fish are harder to catch, which makes the minigames harder also.
There are also a lot more items and enchantments added with this. You can get fishing enchants (from regular enchanting or other means) as well as fish bait to increase your netting.
And of course, fancy new fishing rods. You'll figure out how to obtain those soon.
Fishing has a lot of dependencies, such as weather, season and even area. Some places will have rarer fish more than others. Of course, these good fish won't come out of a 1x1 sinkhole... But rather oceans and lakes. (Rarer loot such as armour, valuables, weapons etc will ONLY come from those areas)
If you catch a fish that your not sure of its weight or size, you can do /evaluator to get it checked for you.
You can also log and view your catches in your catalog with /catalog
And, to sell all your glorious catches, you can do /market
There's still a lot more unspoken here, for you to go and find out on your own :)
Happy Fishing
Update: Fish finder is currently broken/disabled. It will not function how it should.
Travelling by horseback
To mankinds surprise it is not steel or metal transportation that was useful in combat situations, it was horse. Even in war proving to be the better option.
A new discovery, horses travel faster on certain surfaces?
Horses now travel significantly faster on some surfaces, better for pathing or roads?
They will travel faster on:
Gravel
Red Sandstone
Black Concrete (the fastest)
This is from current training, with more maybe to come in the future.

Other notes:
In case you noticed, fishing now uses the /market command. So yes, the old /market is now gone. After the anonymous auction house was added, and especially during these cold wars, it was pretty much un-used. It served us well (and started the first mending books war?)
Some new sounds were added
Mob swarms and blood moons have been tweaked, with some new loot and interesting mechanics. Prominently, books of higher enchant levels are more likely to drop.
"Special" mobs are more likely to spawn now
Various other improvements and fixes have been made

See you soon,
AURORA
If you are curious, then I will tell you... new areas are coming...
